Reserve residences at ASU are located in close-knit residential colleges where students are placed next door to classmates who share their major or career interest. The residential communities are staffed with undergraduate and graduate students who are dedicated to creating an experience designed to help you thrive.
A Residential Community Director and Assistant Residential Community Director are master’s level professional staff that are responsible for supporting residents, coordinating the experience model, and supervising both undergraduate and graduate team members. They are also responsible for overseeing the residential communities alongside their fellow Residential Community Directors and in conjunction with other CWRU faculty and staff.

The Residence Life team provides a wealth of support services to help you succeed at ASU. They can answer questions about housing, campus events, financial aid, and academic support. They can also help you build a sense of belonging, which will make your time at ASU feel like a home away from home.
In addition to our Residential Community Directors and Assistant Residential Community Directors, we have a full staff of student workers to assist with daily operations. These workers are primarily undergraduate students in their final year of study who are dedicated to providing you with the support you need at ASU.
They are responsible for assisting students with any issues they may have, and helping them to become an active participant in the university community. They can also assist you with academic support and tutoring, as well as provide guidance in navigating the university’s various resources.
Your Resident Assistant is your direct link to the residential college and the campus as a whole, and is a member of the RA team. Your RA is your peer and is responsible for getting to know you, forming your community each year, and assisting you with your transition to life at ASU. They are your first point of contact when you arrive on campus.
RAs will help you get to know the residential community, as well as your peers, faculty and staff. They will help you connect with the Sun Devil way of life, and will serve as a mentor to you throughout your four years at ASU.
At the end of your first year at ASU, you will move into a new residence hall or Living Learning Community where you can continue to grow, learn and engage with other incoming students as they begin their academic careers. Your RA will be a resource as you prepare for your journey at ASU and in the world, and will ensure you have all the support you need to thrive and succeed.
